Istanbul Airport is the international airport serving the city of Istanbul, Turkey. Located on the European side of the city, between the villages of Tayakadin and Akpınar on the Black Sea coast, the airport was opened on October 29, 2018. The first flight was from Istanbul to Ankara on 29 October 2018 with the code TK2124. When all stages are completed, it will be able to serve with 2 terminals whose capacity can be increased to 200 million passengers annually and six independent runways. Although the project name of the airport was determined as Istanbul New Airport during the construction phase, its name was announced as Istanbul Airport when it was completed.
